Antibiotic resistance is an important public health problem in both human and animal medicine. Today, VetNOW’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Gil Patterson, presented to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria (PACCARB) and on the use of telemedicine in food producing animals.  Dr. Patterson spoke about how telemedicine can be used to bridge gaps in veterinary availability and accessibility, and helping veterinarians to make informed decisions about antibiotic usage on the farm.  The PACCARB provides advice, information and recommendations to the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in order to inform government activities related to combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria.  Thank you Dr. Patterson for speaking on behalf of food animal veterinarians everywhere!
